The city invites residents to attend a free Gift of Reading event next week. The event will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 21-22 at the Mesquite Main Library, 300 W. Grubb Drive.
There will be special guest readers including police officers and firefighters.
“The Mesquite Public Library is excited to offer this new activity to our community during the holiday season,” said Virginia Mundt, library director. “It gives families a free event to attend while kids are out of school. It also helps support the Mesquite Independent School District’s #ReadPlayTalk campaign.”
The free event will include complimentary holiday treats and a craft table for kids. Guest readers will appear at 3:30 p.m. each day to read holiday-themed books.
