Mesquite Elks Lodge awards Police Officer of the Year

On February 27, the Mesquite Elks Lodge #2404 presented their annual awards at the City Dignitary Awards Banquet. The lodge named Mesquite Police Officer Dennis Arnold, Jr. as Police Officer of the Year; Mesquite Firefighter/Paramedic Samantha Criswell as Firefighter of the Year; and Diane Wright as Mesquite Citizen of the Year.

Officer Arnold joined the Mesquite Police Department in 1994 and currently serves as the Academy Coordinator of the Mesquite Police Academy’s Basic Officer Course.

Firefighter Criswell started her career with the Mesquite Fire Department in 2001 has been a driving force within the department to support the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association’s Fill-The Boot campaign.

Ms. Wright has been a Mesquite resident since 1977 and has continuously given her time and talents to the community including the Mesquite Quality of Life Corporation Board of Directors, which has advised the City Council in more than $150 million in transportation, public safety and parks and recreation projects to the Mesquite landscape.
