July 26th, 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Mesquite Police Association. We would like to say thank you to the past and present members of our organization, as well as to the citizens of the City of #Mesquite for all of their support over the past 50 years!

Congratulations to Officers Robert Keith, Luke Christopherson and Lieutenant George Hensley who were recognized by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) at Wednesday’s recognition luncheon for their efforts and dedication in #DWI #Interdiction and enforcement.

Thank you to our members for supporting the GUNS & HOSES Foundation of North Texas and their mission by playing in their annual hockey tournament! Our Mesquite Officers are playing with the Richardson Police Officers’ Association FOP Lodge 105 Rage and North America Blue Hockey teams. We also spotted some Mesquite Police Department – Texas recruiters at the tournament today.

Honoring our fallen brother, Officer Richard Houston, on this #MemorialDay.

Though National Police Memorial Day was originally established in 1962, this Police Memorial Day is especially somber for the Mesquite Police Department Family as it is the first since our brother, Officer Richard Houston, was killed in the line of duty on December 3, 2021.

We were honored to partner with our brothers and sisters at the Mesquite Firefighters Association and be part of the Mesquite Community Prayer Breakfast.

This last weekend, Mesquite Police Department Honor Guard team was in Austin, Texas to honor the fallen officers during the Texas police officers memorial ceremony. This year, we added one of our own to this memorial, Richard Lee Houston II – EOW 12/3/2021.

Last week the Mesquite Police Department celebrated members for outstanding and distinguished service at the annual Meritorious Conduct Awards during the city council meeting. The awards presented included the Sergeant H Kent Tyler Officer of the Year Award to Officer Mike Smith.
