On Oct. 15, at 4 p.m., Mesquite will host the third annual Real. Texas. Heroes. activity to recognize its police and fire professionals. The event will be held outside in front of the Mesquite Police Department, 777 N. Galloway Avenue. The Real. Texas. Heroes. program will feature music, presentations and complimentary ice cream courtesy of the Blue Bell Creameries located in Mesquite.
Police Chief Charles Cato said, “We are honored to be a part of this event and have an opportunity to recognize all first responders.”
Fire Chief Mark Kerby said, “It has been a busy year in our country with many emergency management incidents, and this activity will be one way we can pay tribute to all of the professionals who have helped so many.”
The Mesquite Police Association, which designed and donated the 2017 Real. Texas. Heroes. logo, and the Mesquite Fire Association support this activity to bring attention to the dedication of public safety professionals.
